James 1:5-8 Amp version
Consider it nothing but joy, my [b]brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. 3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. 7 For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].
~Trust God~
This scripture advises us to trust God and never doubt him. It tells us to count it all joy when we are experiencing trials and tribulations because they come to test your faith and take you to higher heights and deeper depths in God. We go through so frequent in life daily, and it leads us to become weary in well doing. We become frustrated, aggravated, bitter, and for others depression. Whenever we allow ourselves to reach that place, it provides doubt an opportunity to creep in and diminish our faith and we lose confidence in God. Now, we are in a war within ourselves: one part of the mind is advising you to trust God and never doubt him, and the other part focuses on the negative thoughts. We’ve now reached a state of double-mindedness, confusion, and unstableness, which isn’t a great place to be because faith and doubt can’t dwell in the same place. A double-minded being can't be trusted neither
The Word states if we reach a place of being double-minded, then we ought not to assume we will receive anything from God. James uses the word double-minded to describe someone who’s
~Don't be deceived~
God loves us so much that he allows us to go through various trials and tribulations to make us greater so we may reach higher heights and deeper depths in God. The trials we face allow us to draw closer to God, and the relationship between you and God strengthens. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Do not, in the midst of the testing of your faith, let the enemy come in and plant doubt. The Bible declares the devil is a liar, so anytime you are going through a hard time you hear things like “You will never make it out of this,” or “You will never succeed,” or “You will always struggle ,” remember Satan is a liar. Every time he plants a seed of doubt, turn it around into a positive. You have to learn how to reverse the negativity and keep your faith and trust in God no matter what. James 1:12 says, “Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved , he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
