     Purpose is the key to gratification and preservation.  The meaning of purpose is  the reason for which something is done or created, or for which something exists. Around the world, so many individuals are seeking their purpose or their reason for existence. Some even question, "Am I living out the purpose God has created for my life?" Over the past 3 to 5 years, I woke up every day asking the same questions you may have asked. "What is my purpose in life?" Since I’ve started my journey to discovering who I am, it constantly leads me back in the book of Genesis. In Genesis 2:15 it says, " Then the  Lord  God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it." First, let’s review the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve were planted and lived. Every day there is a fight going on with your spirit and your flesh(brain). That is why the bible tells us to deny ourselves daily.  Yo ur brain is designed to keep you alive. The brain is like the autocorrect function on your phone. When faced with a situation, your brain automatically responds with what's been programmed within it. When you go to school, what you are learning is being programmed within your mind. This also includes life lessons, teachings from a parent, social media, readings, and other sources. One example is when you get burned by fire it automatically alerts the brain that the fire is hot. The other night in my kitchen my husband and I were discussing Tuesday night bible study which was amazing. I open my bible it was on the table next to me and I automatically turned to Isaiah 59 and the title of the chapter was separation from God and it immediately caught my attention. I begin to read it and it begins to say the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save, nor is his ear dull that he cannot hear. But your iniquity(which is secret sin)  have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Right at that moment, I knew God was trying to get my attention. The scriptures go on to talk about how sinful living and the secret sins we have committed separate us from the father, and you can tell by the context of the scripture God was not pleased with what was happening amongst his people.
